Lynchburg City Council Votes on Employee Pay Raises
Lynchburg, VA - Bids for the Heritage High School project came in well below what Lynchburg City officials had anticipated.
So Tuesday night they decided to put the extra 600 thousand dollars to use.
City Council voted 4 to 3 to bump pay raises for all city employees from one and a half to two percent.
Three council members -- Turner Perrow, Jeff Helgeson, and H Cary all voted to cut the city's real estate tax by one cent with that excess, but that proposal did not pass.
