Lynchburg Chamber Celebrates End of Summer With Wing Fling

Lynchburg, VA - It's the event for wing lovers of all ages: the Wing Fling.The Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrated the end of summer in style tonight, telling ABC 13 more than 600 tickets sold even before the gates opened at Phase 2.The fundraiser is one of the largest of the year for the Chamber."It's the last summer fling. You know, kids are going back to school. It's the last chance to get out and have a great time before the fall season starts," said Christine Kennedy, interim president.Money raised, Kennedy says, goes not only to the Chamber but also into several scholarships. The scholarships, she says, helps pay for non-profit and small businesses to go through a nine month community leadership developmental program.
