Lynchburg, VA - Volunteering to work with youth is important, and one program in our area called Project Combine needs more help.
Horizon Behavioral Health is behind Project Combine, which provides mentors to youth struggling with substance abuse. Some mentors have already signed up, but they are looking for dozens more.
If being a mentor sounds interesting, Horizon is scouting for a broad spectrum of people with all kinds of backgrounds to connect with the kids.
"Someone who can give them a roadmap of ways that would lead to success. Things that they can engage in that will make them successful. Once again, we want them to feel empowered that they can do things and succeed and be productive by the time they leave the program," said Adedamola Onafowokan, mentor coordinator, Project Combine.
