LU second baseman Ryan Seiz has been named one of 45 semifinalists for this year's Dick Howser Trophy as the top player in college baseball. The junior, who leads the Flames with a .381 average and 11 homers, is the first-ever LU player to be named a Dick Howser semifinalist. Seiz enters the weekend ranked nationally in several offensive categories. He ranks ninth in slugging percentage, 13th in total bases and 16th in home runs. He's also been listed on the Gregg Olson Award Watch List, presented to college baseball's "breakout player."The finalists for the Dick Howser Trophy will be announced June 5. The award will be presented at TD Ameritrade Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska on June 14, the opening day of the College World Series.
