LU's Fogg Out with Possible Broken Foot

Lynchburg - After a bye week, the Liberty Flames return to action this Saturday afternoon as they open Big South Conference play against Gardner-Webb.

The Flames will be without one of their top players. Senior defensive back and return specialist Kevin Fogg suffered a foot injury Sunday while running, possibly a broken foot, he could be out for the year. Kenny Scott of Appomattox will take his place at cornerback. The Flames and Gardner-Webb are both 0-and-4, but more importantly, zero and zero in the Big South with a fresh start.
Turner Gill, LIBERTY FLAMES HEAD COACH, said "Every game is meaningful, but there is a lot more meaning as far as your conference play because we're all striving, everybody has an opportunity to be conference champions and this is the first game. This is the first start of that conference."
Josh Woodrum, R-FRESHMAN STARTING QUARTERBACK, said "You know our goal all along was to win the Big South and make it to the playoffs. And you know Montana, Lehigh, Norfolk State, all those don't really matter so to speak. So you know it's good to have, play some hard competition and know what we're expecting if we make it into the playoffs. But you know, now I think that we're in the Big South, we're really gonna turn it up a notch and hopefully run the table."
