LU's Des Rice Improving with Each Game

Lynchburg - It's back on the road for the Liberty Flames this weekend as they play at Gardner-Webb. Both teams are 0-and-1 in the conference, both falling to Coastal Carolina.

While the Flames, no doubt, are still hurting from that double overtime loss to Coastal, one of the real bright spots for LU has been the steady improvement of running back Des Rice out of L.C.A. The junior ran for career highs of 170 yards and three TDs Saturday and is picking up steam with every game.

Turner Gill, LIBERTY FLAMES HEAD COACH, said "He's a very, very impressive running back that you make contact with him he's still moving forward, falling forward and that's what you're asked to do. You make a few people miss, has good hands, does a good job in protection, he's answered all the things he needs to be answered is to say that he deserves more reps."

Des Rice, 170 YDS. RUSHING, 3 TD'S SATURDAY, said "You know I work my butt off and I've been here for a while. And to see myself actually being out there and doing well, it feels good. But I've got to continue to get better each and every week and keep this up."
