LU Women Storm Back from Big Early Deficit to Beat Winthrop

Rock Hill, SC - After trailing 23-8 the first six-and-a-half minutes, the Liberty women stormed back and later beat Winthrop in overtime 77-70 in a battle for first place in the Big South. Ashley Rininger led the Flames with her fifth straight double-double, 20 points and 14 rebounds. Reagan Miller scored all 17 of her points after halftime and Mickayla Sanders finished with a career-high 17. The trio combined for 12 of the Lady Flames' 15 points in overtime.

Liberty improves to 11-and-6 overall, 7-and-1 in the Big South. Winthrop falls to 12-and-5 overall and 6-and-2 in the Big South after suffering its first home loss of the season and seeing its three-game winning streak halted.

Also, the third-ranked Duke women routed Virginia 90-55.
