Lynchburg - The Liberty men's basketball team returned to the win column Friday night at home, beating NAIA Milligan 81-63.
John Caleb Sanders poured in a career-high 24 points to lead the way for the Flames, in the process the junior topping 600 points for his Liberty career.
Along with Sanders, Davon Marshall and Tavares Speaks each chipped in 13 points for Liberty.
Ignas Palaima led the Buffaloes with 15 points and seven rebounds.
With the victory, Liberty moves to 2-10 on the year, while Milligan is now 8-7. The Flames led by 11 at the half and were able to stretch the margin to 21 in the opening seven minutes of the second half.
Liberty returns to the Vines Center next Friday, playing host to Union College in a 7 o'clock tipoff.
