LU Hosts Randolph in Hoops Opener Friday Night

Lynchburg - The Liberty Flames men's basketball team tips off its season this Friday night at home at 8 against Division 3 crosstown opponent Randolph College.

The Flames are coming off a year where they started 0-and-8 but finished strong with a Big South Tournament championship.

Dale Layer, LIBERTY FLAMES HEAD COACH, said "We've learned a lot about our team over the past year with their championship run, that was awesome. But now it's time really to turn the page because every year is a different year, every team is a different team."

Clay Nunley, RANDOLPH WILDCATS HEAD COACH, said "It's really been a group that's been eager to learn and want to do the right things. Even in the fall when they first got back to campus about working to build the right relationships."
