Lynchburg, VA - Christmas is a little more than two months away, but Liberty Mountain got a big dose of Christmas spirit Tuesday night.
They called on Rustburg's Nathan Norman to make it happen. Nathan got the honor of flipping the switch on the Liberty Christmas tree.
Nathan's fighting cancer, and to get him through the days, his family has made everyday like Christmas for him. He has gotten several presents and cards from across the country. Nathan also got some gear from the Liberty Flames Athletic Department.
Nathan's family says these moments are so special to him.
"It's incredible because we are not the only family in the area that has a child with cancer. So to be chosen is definitely an honor," said Bobby Norman, Nathan's father.
Nathan also got another special honor. He will be the Grand Marshal of the Lynchburg Christmas Parade in December.
