LU Coach Gill, QB Josh Woodrum on Richmond Game

Lynchburg - This Saturday, the Flames face their former head coach Danny Rocco, now in his second year leading the Richmond Spiders.

Richmond routed VMI 34-0 in its opener before a final second loss at N.C. State, then the Spiders laid an egg last week in a 12-10 loss at Gardner-Webb. They're 1-and-2, but still ranked 20th in the country in the FCS Coaches Poll. So an LU win on the road would be huge. What about the emotions of facing the Flames former head coach?

Turner Gill, LIBERTY FLAMES HEAD COACH, said "That's not even really prevalent. It's not necessarily about the coach, it's about our players going out and performing on the football field. Don't make it more than what it is, don't make it less than what it is. You've got to go out and execute the gameplan. If you don't do that, it doesn't matter what had happened in the past and what's going to happen in the future."
Josh Woodrum, FLAMES R-SOPH. QUARTERBACK, said "It is a pretty big game. You know the coaches are talking about, you know, not letting the emotions dictate this week. But you know everybody's going to have emotions when they go out on the field."
