Lt. Governor Candidate Northam Visits Danville

Danville, VA -- Democratic candidate Ralph Northam visited the Southside Friday.

This is the first time in the general election that he has visited Danville.
Northam spent Friday morning touring downtown shops and seeing the progress of Main Street. Then he stopped by Danville Regional Medical Center.
He says being a doctor will help him as Lt. Governor because he's a good listener. Northam also weighed in on Medicaid expansion.
"I think it is very important. It will open up coverage for about 400 thousand working Virginians. We all know when people don't have coverage, they end up receiving their care in the emergency room," said Northam.
We reached out to E.W. Jackson for comment but have not yet received a response.
