Longwood Goes For World Record in Papier-Mache
Farmville, VA - Longwood University students, faculty, and staff members are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest papier-mache sculpture.
Over the course of three days, hundreds of Longwood students will help construct a ball 10 feet tall.
The finished project will resemble a giant beach ball and will represent several Longwood traditions.
Students can record their hopes for Longwood's legacy on pieces of paper that read "I believe" and attach them to the ball.
The current record for the largest papier-mache sculpture is held by Salem Lutheran School in California.
