Danville, VA-- Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling was in Danville Friday to discuss a new initiative.
It's called the K-12 All Students Education Initiative. The purpose of the plan is to have more accountability in education and reward great teachers.
They also want to make sure that students have a high quality of education that allows them to be college- ready or career- ready when they graduate high school.
Bolling said, most importantly, the initiative is meant to help educators prepare students for the workforce.
"Business leaders want to make certain that they have workers who have the skills that they need to do the jobs in their businesses," Bolling said.
