Lynchburg - The Liberty Lady Flames held Longwood to less than 25 percent shooting for the game and outrebounded the Lancers by 24 in a 33-point win, 74-41 Thursday night at LU's Vines Center.
Liberty used the three-point shot to great effect, tying a season-high with 10 triples.
Jaymee Fisher-Davis buried four 3s, Mickayla Sanders three, the duo led Flames scoring with 16 points apiece. LU bounced back in a big way from Saturday's overtime loss at UNC-Asheville, the Flames improve to 12-and-7 overall, 8-and-2 in Big South play.
And with Winthrop's overtime loss at Campbell Thursday night, the Flames regain sole possession of first place in the Big South.
The Lancers, led by Daeisha Brown's 13 points and 5 rebounds, fall to 6-13 overall and 3-7 in the Big South.
Liberty has a week off from competition before next Thursday's home game with High Point. The Panthers defeated LU at High Point 75-70 back on December 30.
