Lynchburg, VA - Liberty University affirmed its support for Chick-fil-A Thursday by announcing a new "express" location on campus.

University officials say it will open up August 16 in the Tilley Student Center. The press release from the university also says a second location is in the works on main campus.

In September 2007, Dan Cathy visited LU to open the school's first Chick-fil-A restaurant.

"We welcome Chick-fil-A and the values they stand for," said Lee Beaumont, Liberty's director of auxiliary services in the university's announcement.

Chick-fil-A has been a dining option on campus for five years.

The Wards Road and River Ridge mall Chick-fil-A locations in Lynchburg have had a sponsor relationship for more than a decade with Liberty University Athletics. They are the sole sponsor of the Flames Kids Club.
