Lynchburg, VA - Liberty University is proposing a land swap with Central Virginia Community College.
Chancellor Jerry Falwell Junior says Liberty's Board of Trustees Friday, approved moving forward with purchasing CVCC's campus in return the community college would re-build on land currently owned by Liberty.
Falwell says the two schools were in talks about a swap for months following CVCC's interest in updating their decades old campus.
Currently, Liberty officials are determining if they will renovate the existing CVCC facilities or, build new.
The land they are offering to the community college sits along the 460 bypass near the future site of the Odd Fellows Road exit.
The proposal still needs to be approved by the Virginia Community College System.
