Lynchburg, VA - Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Junior was on hand Friday morning in Rustburg for the official opening of the Morris Campus Garden.
The campus garden is located on some Liberty land near Candler's Mountain Road.
This is the first of many phases for the project, which will allow students to learn how to tend small, easy to work gardens. It has vegetables, and will eventually have fruit trees and a pond.
"In the summer there will be a lot of cucumbers, tomatoes, and things that are generally used in hot house-type situations...we'll see, it's a bit of trial and error," said Campus Garden Manager Alicia Cripe.
"You know she is like my son, she dressed a little bit like a hippie, so I was a little bit worried about what she might grow," said Chancellor Falwell.
