Lynchburg, VA - It was a packed house as the Liberty University Men's Basketball team learned their fate in the NCAA Tournament. The announcement came shortly after the selection show began.
The Flames will be playing North Carolina A&T Tuesday in Dayton Ohio.
Once the Flames knew their opponent Coach Dale Layer addressed the crowd.
"When you work you have a chance, and God absolutely blessed our work, he gave us his favor," said Layer.
But it wasn't just team members who came out to celebrate. Die Hard LU fans were invited as well.
"It's a very big deal," said Analisa Parker, a LU fan.
"I think it is a big deal and yet I don't think anyone is surprised I think that is where were headed and it's exciting," said Matt Schubert, another LU Fan.
Fans here say they are proud of their team, and excited that Liberty University has achieved national attention.
"Liberty is a smaller school, so for us to be able to compete with the bigger schools it's an advantage for us," said Parker.
" Extremely excited and I think just for the year to see the start this year and everything the team went through and to see them come through and finish well is awesome," said Schubert.
But the celebration quickly turned to determination, as the Flames begin to focus on winning another game.
"I think we will be ready to go on Tuesday," said Layer.
