Martinsville, VA -- The Liberty Fair Mall in Martinsville could soon switch ownership, and tenants are really concerned.
A letter was distributed to the businesses in the mall advising them that the mall will remain open and not to worry about the switch. But a business owner says that they feel just the opposite.
They say they have only minimally been informed about an auction to sell the mall, and they are concerned for their business.
"With Martinsville having the highest unemployment in the state, I would be concerned with the retail jobs that could be lost if it were purchased by someone not interested in retail," said Joseph Martin, owner of What's Your Sign.
The general manager of the mall refused to comment.
