L.C.A/V.E.S. Co-Teams of the Week

Lynchburg - For today's ABC 13 High School Team of the Week, we're spotlighting Lynchburg's two private school state champions, the L.C.A. Bulldogs and V.E.S. Bishops. Both won their titles in convincing fashion. The L.C.A. Bulldogs are celebrating back-to-back Division One state championships after rolling over a tough Fork Union team 35-14. The Bulldogs have won five state titles in the past nine years.

The V.E.S. Bishops captured their FIRST state football title since the beginning of the playoff system. V.E.S. took care of Fredericksburg Christian 48-20 to capture the Division Three crown.
Albert "Butch" Jennings, V.E.S. BISHOPS COACH, said "That run that got us here, I told the boys what do you want to do. They said Coach we want to win. So I taught 'em one thing. If you're going to win, work in the now. That's what win means here, and these kids work, and they work, and they work."
Frank Rocco, L.C.A. BULLDOGS COACH, said "Our kids they allow you to coach them. And if they do what you coach them to do, we're really good. And we've got a lot of good players and coaches are really good. So it's just a lot of fun to coach these guys."
