Lynchburg - Thursday was "Meet the Coach Night" at Liberty Christian Academy. The Bulldogs introduced THREE new basketball coaches. Former Rustburg boys coach and one-time LU standout Matt Hildebrand takes over as LCA's new girls head coach. 1997 LU grad Wade Mawdesley is LCA's new boys head coach, most recently he's coached at an NAIA college in Georgia. Mawdesley's assistant on the boys team will be veteran JF coach Paul Redgate, who's served as Cavs girls and boys head coach. Matt Hildebrand, NEW L.C.A. GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH, said "I'm here to teach first and coach. But just the opportunity for my family to be a part of this community was really a big draw."Wade Mawdesley, NEW LC.A. BOYS HEAD BASKETBALL COACH, said "I'm passionate, there's nothing I get more enjoyment out of seeing than young people to grow on the floor and then using basketball to disciple young men to grow and become champions for Christ."Paul Redgate, NEW L.C.A. BOYS ASSISTANT COACH, said "Speaking with Coach Mawdesley the head coach, I could just tell right off the bat we're gonna work great with one another. And I'm sure he has the same motto that I always had when I was the head coach. I want my assistant coaches to be a co-head coach."
