L.C.A. Hoops Camp Attracts Big Numbers

Lynchburg - This year's John Patterson Basketball Day Camp at Liberty Christian Academy attracted a big crowd of 170 boys and girls, ages 6 through 15. One thing you feel as soon as you walk in is a lot of energy and encouragement in this camp. Director John Patterson is the current Superintendent at L.C.A, but basketball is still very much in his blood. He's a former L.C.A. and Liberty High School head coach. This is the ninth year he and his wife have headed up the camp, which not only helps athletes develop individual skills but also stresses the team concept.

John Patterson, BASKETBALL CAMP DIRECTOR, said "They really encourage each other and it's something Dennis that we really, really focus on in this camp. We focus on attitude and encouragement so everyone here walks away feeling really good about who they are."

James "Deuce" Elder, 13-YEAR-OLD CAMPER, said "He's helped me very much. He tells me a lot of what to do and it just helps me get better at my game and I love him."
