LCA Captures Program's First Baseball State Title

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA - The Bulldogs ended the season with a dog pile. After Jeremiah Kirkland struck out the final batter of the game, Liberty Christian Academy Bulldogs players and coaches rushed to the center of the infield and jumped all over each other.For the first time in program history, LCA is a baseball state champion, defeating St. Anne's-Belfield (Charlottesville) 10-3 Sunday night.The Bulldogs (23-2) jumped on University of Virginia commit Bobby Nicholson in the first inning, scoring five runs on five hits.Senior Zach Clinton, Liberty-bound next season, pitched six innings and got the victory.
