L.C.A. Boys and Girls Advance to State Semifinals

Wednesday was a banner day for L.C.A. Basketball.

The Bulldog girls beat Bishop O'Connell 60-39 in the afternoon to earn their trip to the Final Four. Moriah Begin led L.C.A. with 17 points, Raven Jefferson added 15.

L.C.A. will face St. Catherine's Friday afternoon at 1:30 at Wakefield School in The Plains in Fauquier County. The winner advances to Saturday's 5 o'clock state title game.

Wednesday night, the L.C.A. boys pulled off maybe the biggest upset in school history, knocking off number one in the state and 36 in the nation Paul VI 54-50.

The Bulldog boys advance to Friday night's 7 o'clock state semifinal against Benedictine at Virginia State University in Petersburg. The winner advances to Saturday's 4 o'clock state title game.

The V.E.S. boys, competing in Division Two, also play at Virginia State University Friday afternoon at 3:30. The Bulldogs, who knocked out Fredericksburg Christian 74-54 Wednesday night, square off against Middleburg Academy. The winner advances to Saturday's 2 o'clock state title game.
