L.C.A. Baseball - ABC 13 Team of the Week

Lynchburg - Today's high school Team of the Week is L.C.A. Bulldogs Baseball, which captured its first-ever state championship Sunday night. The Bulldogs ripped St. Anne's-Belfield 10-3 in the title game, capping a stellar 23-and-2 season. Josh Barrick, L.C.A. SENIOR SHORTSTOP, said "We all knew that no matter what happened this year our ultimate goal was to win a state championship and we weren't going to be satisfied until we did that. And that was the main mindset of the team."Jeremiah Kirkland, L.C.A. SENIOR OUTFIELDER/PITCHER, said "Like Josh said, it was dream-like. I did throw the last pitch and I jumped into Josh Campo's arm. I've been playing with him for about eight years now and it was just unbelievable. I wouldn't rather be with any other team, it was great."Zach Clinton, L.C.A. SENIOR PITCHER (SUNDAY'S WINNER), said "Now that we've finally done it, it means everything to me. To leave a legacy to the younger guys on the team and everybody else."
