Lynchburg - Freshman Jennifer Garrett out of L.C.A. delivered 11 kills and added five blocks to help lead Lynchburg College to a 3-0 win over cross-town rival Randolph College Wednesday night in ODAC volleyball.
LC opened the first set on fire, breezing to victory 25-13. Randolph had a lead of 24-21 in the second game, but three-straight points from the Hornets tied it at 24. Randolph earned the next point, but LC won the next three to take the set 27-25, the final two points being a service ace from Amanda Perry and a kill from Sierra Strathy. The Hornets then added game three 25-18 for the match.
Perry and Aricquel Payne each added six kills for Lynchburg and Gabby Myers totaled 18 assists and seven digs. Mackenzie Ross had 16 assists, seven digs and three blocks, while Sam Page had a team-best eight digs.
Randolph's Jordan Templin tied for game-bests with 11 kills and eight digs. Kerry McMichael had 18 assists for the WildCats, who fall to 7-5 overall, 1-4 in the ODAC.
Lynchburg improves to 5-8 overall, 2-3 in the ODAC.
