Danville, VA - The ninth person involved in a credit card fraud ring that started in Northern Virginia and ended in Danville was sentenced Friday morning.
Jansen Yeboah was sentenced to 10 years and four months in prison.
He took part in the fraud to re-code gift cards with stolen credit card numbers to buy different items.
U.S. Attorney Tim Heaphy says the conspirators came to Danville because they thought they could get away with it, but they were proved wrong.
"For Danville this is a big case. This is a couple hundred thousand dollars in loss. There is sophistication to this operation. These are people that had a equipment that allowed them to re-code cards. They had a lot of stolen data, personal identifying information," said Heaphy.
The eight others involved were sentenced in August and September.
