Kids in Special Olympics Benefit From Torch Run

Lynchburg, VA - Officers Central Virginia are running with the torch Wednesday as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise awareness for the Special Olympics.

Later Wednesday, Bedford County deputies will bring the torch to Liberty University police which will pass it off to Lynchburg Police at the Sheetz on Wards Road.

Then at the John Lynch Bridge, the torch will be handed to Amherst County Deputies.

Tuesday, public safety personnel from Roanoke County carried the torch down Electric Avenue.

Runners have been making their way toward Richmond since late last week.

The torch run ends on Friday as the Special Olympics of Virginia gets underway in Richmond.
