Justin Case for June 5, 2012

Has this season been the best coaching job byUVa's Brian O'Connor?

It's hard to argue against either one of the seasonswhen they went to the College World Series (2009, 2011) but the Cavaliers losta TON of players and pitchers from last year's teams. The team started 5freshmen at times and had to rely on an unproven pitching staff. Branden Klinewas their ace but he was making the transition from closer to starter. O'Connornoted at the ACC Tournament that in the beginning of the season they "had tofigure out the bullpen." So after a season is complete with a 39-19-1 record,I'd argue it's at least one of O'Connor's top three coaching jobs. Yes theyshould have performed better in the NCAA Regional. They dug themselves too bigof a hole in both games against Appy State and Oklahoma. O'Connor said, "We didnot play our best baseball."

Will CUJO challenge Kelly Pavlik? The fight in LasVegas goes down this Friday June 8th. It's on ESPN2. Teddy Atlas(boxing analyst) says Scott Sigmon doesn't have a chance. I'll be rooting forSigmon. However you have to credit Pavlik (38-2, 33 knockouts). He has foughtsome top notch guys. Take a look at his profile:

Following this coming weekend, you won't see me onTV for a while. I'll be off for a week to head to Cincinnati for my youngestsister's wedding. It'll be a guaranteed blast. We may not do a lot of thingswell, but we know how to throw a party. Congratulations to Liz and her soon tobe husband Mike.
