Judge: Halifax Co. Man Accused of Killing Woman Is Not Competent to Stand Trial
Halifax Co., VA - A Halifax County man accused of killing an elderly woman has been ruled not competent to stand trial.
That's the decision a judge handed down Monday.
A court appointed psychologist evaluated James Terry.
The judge ruled that Terry should be sent to an institution where he will remain and go through treatment until he is competent to stand trial.
Terry is accused of killing 84-year-old Charlotte Rice in April 2011.
He faces capital murder charges.
