Jodi Salyer - Staunton River

The Golden Eagles senior was their go-to player all season long and for her efforts she has been selected as ABC 13's Sports Full Court Press Player of the Year. She will play for the Delaware Blue Hens (currently a top 10 team with Elena Delle Donne leading the way) next season.

This year in her final season in Moneta, Salyer averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game.

She has scored 1,027 points in her career which is the 3rd highest in Staunton River history. She has helped lead her team to two regular season district championships, and 3 district tournament titles.

She was named 1st team all-Blue Ridge District her sophomore, junior and senior years and made 1st team All-Region her junior and senior years.

Coach Kim Jones says, "She is a great person on and off the court. She is well liked and respected by her coaches and teammates. She will be very hard to replace. I love the fact that she loves to play defense, just as much as she likes to play offense. During this season, she has had to overcome a shoulder injury, back injury and illness. She still worked hard even though she was in pain. She never wanted to let her team and coaches down."
