Important Back to School Information for LCS Parents and Students
Lynchburg, VA - There are a lot of important dates coming up for Lynchburg City Schools parents.
Back-to-school registration is set for Tuesday, August 19th, from 12:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at your child's school. Orientation for Heritage High School freshmen is Thursday, and for E.C. Glass freshmen, it's Tuesday, August 19th. Orientation for PreK, Kindergarten, and 6th-grade students is August 22nd.

Parents and students should register at the school their child will be attending. All students will be asked to provide two current forms of proof of residency. All students entering 6th grade for the first time need the T-dap vaccination.

E. C. Glass only: For those who attended early registration, please remember to bring your red pass for expedited admittance on registration day. Orientation for Heritage High School freshmen: August 14th. Parents and students can choose between two sessions: Noon or 5 p.m. A light meal will be provided.
Orientation for E. C. Glass freshmen: August 19th. Residency verification begins at 8 a.m. and orientation is from 9 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served.
Orientation for PreK, Kindergarten, and 6th-grade students: August 22nd. Transportation is provided. Bus schedules will be handed out at registration on August 19th. Parents and students can ride the bus to school on orientation day.
Open House for new Parent Resource Service: August 19, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The new Parent Resource Service (PRS), which is housed at Carl B. Hutcherson School at 2401 High Street, is excited to invite LCS teachers and parents of students with disabilities to an open house on registration day. The Parent Resource Service (PRS) serves parents of children receiving special education services in Lynchburg City Schools and promotes partnerships among parents, educators, and our community.
