Imagine Children's Festival Brings Back Trapeze After Popular Demand

Danville,VA-- Danville is gearing up for a major downtown event Friday-- the River District Festival.

It starts Friday night on Main Street, but another big part of the festival is just for kids.

The Imagine Children's Festival kicks off on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Carrington Pavilion.

There will be rides, activities and games for children. A magician and the Virginia All Steel Orchestra will also take the stage.

But one major attraction that's back by popular demand is the Aerial Trapeze Academy. They had 350 kids try it out last year.

"This is the imagine festival," said Matthew Altbush, owner of Aerial Trapeze Academy. "Every kid's dream is to perform in the circus. Our motto is runaway with the circus, be home in time for dinner. That's exactly what you can do here at the festival. At the end you can participate in our flying trapeze show."

All attractions at the Imagine Children's Festival are free.
