Danville, VA- Officials in Danville responded to a fire at 3:45 Sunday on the 700 block of Lanier Avenue. They found the Hylton Hall building engulfed in flames.
Neighbors could barely see the front of the building because of the thick haze of smoke. Smoke filled the streets and crept along tree and sky lines.
The brick structure has been empty since 2005, when it was home to offices for the Dan River Dye House.
Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
