Hurricane Sandy Relief Drive in Bedford

Bedford, VA - Items are being collected in Bedford for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Roanoke's Because We Care Ministries is filling a trailer outside Wal-Mart on 460.

Volunteers with the organization have already delivered four loads of supplies to victims in New Jersey.

"It was cold. I think about somebody who's lost everything they had and then you have to be out in the elements," said coordinator Casey Gillette. "It's frigid up there and they've got a storm that's coming to impact them again and it's just heartbreaking."

They need coats and blankets, baby items, non-perishable food, personal care items, and water.

      They'll be collecting Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
