Bedford, VA - The help wanted sign was up in Bedford as the Chamber of Commerce held a big job fair Wednesday.
More than 200 job seekers came through the doors at the CVCC Bedford campus in just the first two hours.
They talked to businesses from all over the region that are actively hiring for all types of positions.
"We were very pleasantly surprised to see that 38 businesses were interested and the interesting thing was is that I had businesses calling me as late as yesterday wanting to know if they could come out and have a booth at the last minute," said Susan Martin.
This is the first time the job fair has been held separately from the annual business expo. More than twice the number of businesses participated this year than in years past.
