Radford, VA - Hundreds turned out today to say goodbye to a US Circuit judge that presided over cases from Bristol to Danville over the past 40 years.
Judge James C. Turk, Sr. died at his Claytor Lake home on Sunday of natural causes at the age of 91.
The well wishers included a wide range of people including fellow judges, lawyers, politicians as well as general citizens.
"We're going to miss him but, you know, just so proud of what he has meant for our area. For the City of Radford obviously. And you can tell from the number of people that are here paying their respects to his family and community for what he has meant to us," said one of Turk's first law clerks, Joe Obenschein.
A native of Roanoke County, Judge Turk's final resting place is in Radford - his adopted hometown - where he settled following law school.
