Hundreds Come Out to Resolution Run
Lynchburg, VA - The rainy weather this afternoon didn't stop the Resolution Run in Lynchburg. It was the second year of the event, a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg.
About 300 people showed up for the two mile run and walk though downtown. This fundraiser was able to bring in some big bucks for the club too. Organizers estimate they raised anywhere from 12 to $15,000.
And even the Maytag Repair Man made a special appearance! The event was to encourage healthy active lifestyles within the community.
"We decided that we wanted to do something for a good cause, so we're really pumped and excited even though it's raining, we're super excited," Heather Vaughan said.
"One thing, it's not about winning, it's about helping the Boys and Girls Club," Dakota Vaughan said.
The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg has been serving children ages 6 to 18 in the Greater Lynchburg area since December 2005.
