Human Remains Found in Burned Car Identified as Henry Co. Woman
Henry Co.,VA - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has now identified the human remains that were found in a burned car on Sunday off Philpott Road.
They said a DNA analysis shows that it was a woman from Henry County.
The investigation is still fresh, so law enforcement is staying very tight lipped, but here's what we do know.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the remains were that of 53-year-old Vicky Harbour Purdy. They said she's a Henry County resident.
The car she was found in was a white 2004 Toyota Corolla that was registered in her and her husband's name.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office said her family reported her missing on October 3, three days before the car was found.
Investigators are looking for anyone who has information related to the vehicle fire or that has had recent contact with Purdy.
