GIRLS SOCCER E.C. Glass (10-3-2) handed Jefferson Forest (13-1) its first loss of the season 1-0 in Forest. Lauren Peake scored the lone goal on an assist from Holly Carrington. JF's Katie Cousins did not play. She's with the U-18 U.S. team for Olympic Training Center Training Camp this week in California.BOYS SOCCER Amherst County (10-3) beat Brookville 2-1. Mauritz Apelman (on a penalty kick) and Drake Nixon scored the goals for the Lancers before the Bees added a penalty kick goal late in the contest. Amherst hosts E.C. Glass Wednesday and then plays at Jefferson Forest Thursday. Jefferson Forest (9-3-2) won 2-1 against Liberty in Bedford. Logan Murkle scored JF's first goal and then with the game tied at one with 10 minutes to go Aaron's Crance's goal got JF the win. JF hosts Heritage Wednesday.E.C. Glass (11-3-1, 10-0-1) beat Rustburg 8-0 to clinch the Seminole District regular season title. Pierre Taulere had two goals. Matt McAden had three assists.BASEBALLStaunton River improved to 13-3 with a 4-0 win over Jefferson Forest. Travis Crouch threw a complete game and allowed just 5 hits. Staunton River will be featured as the ABC 13 Team of the Week Wednesday at 6 p.m.BOYS TENNISE.C. Glass ended up beating G.W. 5-0, finishing up their match at Oakwood Country Club's indoor courts. The Hilltoppers advance to the Conference 24 Semifinals on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. vs. Pulaski on the Glass courts.GIRLS TENNISE.C. Glass was playing Jefferson Forest when rain postponed matches until Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. on the Glass courts. The winner will play Salem on Wednesday at Salem.
