House Approves $9.7 Billion for Flood Insurance Claims From Superstorm Sandy
Washington, DC - The House has approved $9.7 billion in flood insurance claims from Superstorm Sandy.
The vote was expected Friday, and it's one of the first actions of the new Congress.
Lawmakers were upset earlier this week when a vote on aid was scrapped in favor of the vote on the fiscal cliff bill.
The House is scheduled to vote on an additional $50 billion in aid in two weeks.
