Bedford, VA - Veterans from Tennessee met up with local veterans at the National D-Day Memorial Friday. Their next stop is Washington.
The veterans are on a Honor Flight tour. The organization arranges free trips for veterans to see war memorials.
Honor Flight got a permit that allows the veterans to visit during the government shutdown. The seats on the bus were booked months ago.
The veterans will tour the World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War memorials. They'll see the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery, and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.
The Honor Flight group from Tennessee has another trip in April, that is almost completely booked.
