Hokies Stunned in Final Seconds by Cincinnati
LANDOVER, MD - The Hokies got off to yet another slow start and despite scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter, Virginia Tech lost to Cincinnati 27-24 at FedEx Field, the home of the Washington Redskins.
Logan Thomas threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Corey Fuller with 1:49 remaining in the game but that was too much time for the Bearcats. Even without any timeouts, Cincinnati marched 85 yards in less than 2 minutes to score the game-winning touchdown with 13 seconds to go. Munchie Legaux completed a 39-yard pass to Damon Julian to clinch the victory.
Tech's defense stopped the Bearcats running attack, limiting UC to 103 yards on the ground but Legaux lit up Tech's defensive secondary for 376 yards.
With the loss, Tech drops to 3-2 overall, 1-0 in the ACC.
