Hokies, Cavalier Selected in MLB First-Year Player Draft

Three Hokies and one Cavalier have been picked through the first 10 rounds of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

The Hokies' Chad Pinder was taken in round two by Oakland, the 71st pick overall. UVa left-hander Kyle Crockett was selected by Cleveland in round four, overall pick number 111. Virginia Tech outfielder Tyler Horan goes in round 8 by the San Francisco Giants, the 252nd pick. And the Washington Nationals chose Hokies relief pitcher Jake Joyce in the ninth round with the 286th overall selection.
