Historic North Theatre Group Plants Trees on North Main Street
Danville, VA- The city of Danville is encouraging residents to spruce up their neighborhoods this month. It's part of a community-wide clean-up effort called, "Make Danville Shine." The owner of the Historic North Theatre, Wayne Alan, took to North Main Street with some volunteers today to plant some trees. He says he has high hopes for North Main. Alan plans to ask Danville City Council to designate a section of North Main as a Theater and Arts District. "We thought it would be symbolic, not only to plant a tree to show new growth in the area, but also the fact that it is a concrete way that we're going to be making some changes, the area is going to become more vibrant, hopefully, the Danville Theatre and Arts District," Alan said. Alan says he plans to do little clean-up projects like Saturday's once a month.
