Lynchburg - The Hillcats allowed eight Carolina runs in the second inning and could never recover, the Mudcats beating Lynchburg 15-8.
Carolina built a 14-1 lead in the fifth before the Hillcats scored four in the 5th and three in the 7th to make the final score a lot more respectable.
Alex Lavisky led Carolina at the plate, going 3-for-6 with two doubles and driving in four runs. Emerson Landoni led the Hillcats with a 3-for-5 night, including a triple and two rbi's. Matt Lipka, Josh Elander and Will Skinner all had two hits for Lynchburg. Skinner, Landoni and Trenton Moses all drove in two runs for Lynchburg.
Carolina has won two of the first three games in the series, the fourth and final game is slated for Thursday night at 7:05.
Two rain delays totalling two hours and 15 minutes extended the total game time to more than 5 hours, 45 minutes, the game ending after 1 in the morning.
