Lynchburg - Will Skinner broke out of an 0-for-19 slump, belting a two-run homer and driving in four runs as the Hillcats beat Winston-Salem 6-4 Thursday night at Calvin Falwell Field.
Skinner blasted a two-run homer in the second, then plated two more with a single in the third as Lynchburg ran up a 6-0 lead.
Tommy La Stella went 3-for-3 with a double, he's 8-for-11 in his four games this season, hitting .727 since an extended stay on the disabled list. Lynchburg starter Navery Moore matched his career-long seven innings, allowing two runs and four hits, striking out three.
Former UVa Cavalier Jeremy Farrell crushed a two-run homer for the Dash for the second straight night. He drove in all four Winston-Salem runs, including two in the ninth.But Lynchburg held on for the 6-4 win. The Hillcats host Wilmington in a three-game weekend series beginning Friday night at 6:05.
