Hillcats' Hefflinger Earns All-Star Game MVP Honors

San Jose, CA - Lynchburg Hillcat Robby Hefflinger TORE IT UP Tuesday night at the Carolina vs. California League All-Star Game in San Jose California.

Hefflinger won the Home Run Derby, belting 9 in round one, then 10 in the second round. He then went 3-for-5 with two doubles to earn Game MVP honors as the Carolina League won big 12-2. The 23-year-old also got nailed in the post-game with a cooler full of ice water.

He was the only player to collect three hits. Teammate David Rohm also had a big night, driving in two runs with an rbi single, he went 1-for-2. And relief pitcher Ronan Pacheco pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and one walk.
The Hillcats open the second half of the Carolina League season Friday night at home against Winston-Salem.
