Rockbridge Co, VA - A 26 year old hiker who fell off of a group of rocks in Devil's Marbleyard late Saturday morning was rescued shortly after midnight Sunday.

According to Rockbridge County Emergency Manager Robert Foresman, the hiker was taken to Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington, because dense fog prevented any helicopter transport to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

The hiker has a history of cardiac problems, according to Foresman. The fallen hiker was unconscious at one time Saturday after falling, but was alert and talking to medics just prior to being transported to Stonewall Jackson hospital late last night, Foresman said.

There is no word on the hiker's condition or identity at this time.
